Official Contest Rules
The Seed to Centre Ice Contest (the “Contest”) runs during the Contest Period noted below. By participating in the Contest, each participant agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official Contest Rules and all decisions of Canterra Seeds (2002) Ltd. (“CANTERRA SEEDS”), which shall be final and binding, without right of appeal, in all matters relating to this Contest and the awarding of the prizes, including without limitation eligibility and/or disqualification of entries. See “How to Enter” below for how to enter the Contest.
The Contest offers eligible customers the opportunity to win one of two ticket packages to the 2027 IIHF World Junior Championships when they order select CANTERRA SEEDS canola hybrids. Please read these Official Contest Rules carefully before entering the Contest.
SPONSOR.
The Contest is sponsored and administered by CANTERRA SEEDS, located at 201 - 1475 Chevrier Blvd. Winnipeg, MB R3T 1Y7. This Contest is not endorsed, sponsored or administered by, or associated with, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), Hockey Canada, Rogers Place, or any other party, unless specifically noted. ELIGIBILITY.
This Contest is open to individuals who meet all of the following criteria (“Eligible Participants”):
- Are legal residents of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta or British Columbia, Canada;
- Have reached the age of majority in their province of residence at the time of entry (19 in British Columbia and Saskatchewan; 18 in Manitoba and Alberta);
- Are recognized by CANTERRA SEEDS as a farmer, which for the purposes of the Contest shall mean an individual engaged in producing a crop on land in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, or British Columbia, Canada that is owned by or leased to such individual for that purpose;
- Do not reside in the same household in the normal and customary course of their residency as any other Eligible Participant; and
- Meet all other requirements set out in these Official Contest Rules.
Employees of CANTERRA SEEDS or of its related and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, departments or agencies, suppliers, advertising and promotional agencies, contest administrators, and any other parties engaged in the development, production or distribution of Contest materials, and those living in the same household as such employees, are not eligible to enter the Contest.
CANTERRA SEEDS may at any time require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest and any entrants deemed to be ineligible will be disqualified. In order to claim a prize, Eligible Participants must complete the entry requirements, in full, noted below.
CONTEST PERIOD.
The Contest starts at 12:00 a.m. CDT on July 20, 2026 and ends at 11:59 p.m. CST on November 6, 2026 (the “Contest Period”). All qualifying orders must be placed, and all written entries must be received, during the Contest Period. The Contest Period may be extended in the sole and absolute discretion of CANTERRA SEEDS.
HOW TO ENTER.
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY to enter the Contest. There are two ways to enter:
(1) Place an Order. You can enter by ordering 32 or more units of select CANTERRA SEEDS canola hybrids through your retailer, entered in The Hub, on or before November 6, 2026. Entry is determined by trait platform as follows:
- Draw 1 – LibertyLink® canola: orders of 32 or more units of CS4100 LL and/or CS4200 LL.
- Draw 2 – TruFlex® canola: orders of 32 or more units of CS3300 TF and/or CS3400 TF.
Eligible Participants who order 32 or more units of the select LibertyLink canola hybrids AND 32 or more units of the select TruFlex canola hybrids will be entered into both draws – one entry per trait platform. Qualifying units may be combined across the eligible hybrids within a single trait platform to reach the 32-unit threshold (for example, 20 units of CS4100 LL and 12 units of CS4200 LL together qualify for Draw 1).
Orders are non-transferable and will be reconciled by farming unit as captured in the CANTERRA SEEDS Hub. Entry is subject to verification. It is a condition of eligibility that the qualifying order is completed and not later cancelled, reduced below the qualifying threshold, or otherwise deferred; an order that is cancelled or reduced below 32 units will be disqualified. Only qualifying orders placed on or before November 6, 2026 will be counted.
(2) Written Entry (No Purchase Necessary). To enter the Contest without making a purchase of any kind, an Eligible Participant may handwrite an original essay of a minimum of 500 words on the topic of “What hockey and farming have taught me about hard work.” Included with the essay must be the author’s first name, last name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, month and year of birth, and a clear indication of which draw(s) the entrant wishes to be entered in (Draw 1 – LibertyLink and/or Draw 2 – TruFlex).
To be entered into both draws, the entrant must submit one qualifying essay for each draw (two separate essays), each meeting the requirements set out below.
The essay must:
- be an original composition of the author, handwritten for the purpose of this Contest;
- be a minimum of 500 words;
- not have been previously published or submitted for this or any other Contest sponsored by CANTERRA SEEDS;
- not infringe on the privacy or intellectual property rights of any third party;
- be in good taste and in keeping with CANTERRA SEEDS’ corporate image; and
- be written about the identified essay topic.
Written entries must be received during the Contest Period and mailed or delivered to: Seed to Centre Ice Contest, CANTERRA SEEDS, 201 - 1475 Chevrier Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3T 1Y7. CANTERRA SEEDS is not responsible for entries that are late, lost, misdirected, illegible, incomplete or damaged. Entries received after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
Limit of one entry per Eligible Participant per draw, regardless of method of entry. Entries may not (and will be rejected and disqualified if they do) contain any material that is libelous, defamatory, profane or obscene, violate any applicable laws, or infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of third parties.
All entries become the sole property of CANTERRA SEEDS and will not be returned for any reason, and you waive any intellectual property or moral rights in your entry. Entries will be rejected and disqualified if they are late, illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, mutilated, forged, garbled or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Contest Rules.
PRIZES.
There are two (2) prizes available to be won, one (1) per draw (each, a “Prize”). Each Prize consists of one ticket package to the 2027 IIHF World Junior Championships, comprising:
- Two (2) upper bowl tickets to all quarterfinal, semifinal, and bronze and gold medal matchups at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta on January 2, 4 and 5, 2027;
- One (1) hotel voucher; and
- $500 in credits ($250 food and beverage; $250 merchandise).
The approximate total retail value of each Prize is $6,500 CAD. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, exchanged, assigned, substituted or redeemed for cash. CANTERRA SEEDS may, in its sole discretion, substitute a Prize (or any component of a Prize) of equal or greater value if any advertised Prize component becomes unavailable. Travel to and from Edmonton, ground transportation, meals and incidentals beyond those specified above, and all other costs and expenses not expressly listed are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prize components are subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable venue and third-party suppliers. CANTERRA SEEDS is not responsible for any delayed, lost, damaged, or misdirected Prize, or for any event schedule change, postponement or cancellation by the venue or event organizers.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION.
Two (2) winners will be selected by random draw from among all eligible entries received for each respective draw. The draw will take place at November 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CST at the offices of CANTERRA SEEDS, 201 - 1475 Chevrier Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received for each draw before the Contest closes. A selected entrant will be contacted using the information provided with their entry. Before being declared a winner, each selected entrant must (i) correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question; (ii) confirm eligibility and compliance with these Official Contest Rules; and (iii) sign and return a declaration and release within the time specified by CANTERRA SEEDS. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted within a reasonable period, declines the Prize, fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, is found to be ineligible, or fails to return the required documents by the stated deadline, that entrant will be disqualified and CANTERRA SEEDS may, in its sole discretion, select an alternate entrant by random draw.
WAIVER AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY.
By entering the Contest, you confirm the following. CANTERRA SEEDS is not responsible or liable for:
- any of the costs of participation in the Contest;
- any incorrect, lost, late, illegible, falsified, damaged, misdirected or incomplete entries or any related communications, howsoever caused (e.g. human error, computer or other technical malfunction, or otherwise); or
- any changes to or termination of the Contest.
You release and hold harmless CANTERRA SEEDS from, and agree to indemnify CANTERRA SEEDS for, any and all claims and liability in any way related to your participation in the Contest and/or your acceptance, use or misuse of any Prize.
In no event will CANTERRA SEEDS be liable for any special, incidental, punitive, or indirect damages of any kind (e.g. lost prizes), regardless of cause, and you waive any rights to claim any such damages against CANTERRA SEEDS. In the event CANTERRA SEEDS is found to be liable to you for any reason in relation to this Contest, such liability will be limited to $10. You agree this represents a fair allocation of risk and that the Contest would not be possible otherwise.
CONDUCT.
You agree to comply with these Official Contest Rules at all times and to be bound by the decisions of CANTERRA SEEDS. CANTERRA SEEDS reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify at any time any entrant found to be in violation of these Official Contest Rules.
PRIVACY.
By entering the Contest, you consent to:
- the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information (entry and/or order information) by CANTERRA SEEDS for the purpose of advertising, promoting and administering the Contest in accordance with CANTERRA SEEDS’ Privacy Policy (https://canterra.com/privacy-policy/); and
- CANTERRA SEEDS’ use, without any compensation, of your name and the contents of your entry in any advertising and publicity carried out by or on behalf of CANTERRA SEEDS in any media or format, including for example social media and any website or broadcast.
CHANGES TO CONTEST.
CANTERRA SEEDS may modify, amend, or terminate the Contest or these Official Contest Rules at any time in CANTERRA SEEDS’ sole discretion without prior notice.
GOVERNING LAW.
All issues and questions concerning these Official Contest Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Manitoba, Canada without regard to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, and the parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
SEVERABILITY.
If any provision of these Official Contest Rules is invalid, illegal or unenforceable, such provision shall be enforced to the extent permitted by law, and the invalidity, illegality or unenforceability shall not affect any other provision of these Official Contest Rules.

COMPLETE RULES.
In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between these Official Contest Rules and any other documents or statements, these Official Contest Rules prevail.
