1. How To Enter
No purchase required. To enter the Sweepstakes, you must visit the Virtual Crop Tour website at https://virtualcroptour.ca to submit an entry form during the Sweepstakes Period. Entrants must indicate, by checking the appropriate boxes in the entry form, that they agree to the Sweepstakes Rules and agree to accept correspondence from CANTERRA SEEDS.
- Complete the official entry form available on the “CANTERRA SEEDS Virtual Crop Tour Canola Seed Giveaway” Sweepstakes page at https://virtualcroptour.ca and submit the form including your name and the requested information and click “Submit” to submit your entry form.
Submission of an entry form including your name and contact information signifies that you have read and agree to the official Sweepstakes Rules. Questions marked with an asterisk in the entry form are required to be eligible for the Sweepstakes. Answers to any other registration questions are optional and not required to participate in the Sweepstakes.
To be valid, entries must be received during the entry period: Wednesday October 14, 2020 CDT to December 8, 2020, 11:59 p.m. CST.
Entries received after the deadline will be considered void and will not be accepted under any circumstances.
2. Eligibility
Sweepstakes is open to residents of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence. Residents of Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories and Nunavut are not eligible.
Employees of CANTERRA SEEDS and their respective affiliates, as well as such person’s immediate family (father/mother, brother/sister, son/daughter) or persons living under the same roof are not eligible to enter this Sweepstakes.
3. Procedure For Awarding Prizes
After the Sweepstakes Period has ended, a random draw will be conducted on December 8, 2020 and one (1) potential grand prize winner will be chosen by CANTERRA SEEDS from among all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.
The potential grand prize winner must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question before being declared winner, subject to meeting all the conditions described in these Rules.
The potential winner will be contacted within five days of the random draw using the telephone number or email provided in the entry form and must correctly answer the skill-testing question no later than five days after the date they are initially contacted.
If a winner cannot be reached within five days following the first attempt of contact, declines the prize, withdraws consent to receive electronic messages from CANTERRA SEEDS within fourteen (14) days immediately following the date the winner is initially contacted by CANTERRA SEEDS in connection with the selection for the Prize or is otherwise found to be ineligible, the prize shall be forfeited and CANTERRA SEEDS has the right, at its sole discretion, to select another winner by random draw, if applicable.
The prize will be delivered to the recipient’s shipping or courier address.
To be declared a winner of the prize as a result of a random draw, the selected contestant must:
- correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question
4. Description Of Prizes
One prize (described below is available to be won.)
The winner of the Sweepstakes will receive a Prize which, includes the following:
•$10,000 worth of canola seed on one of the Trait Platforms carried by CANTERRA SEEDS:
- Roundup Ready® Canola
- TruFlex™ Canola with Roundup Ready® Technology
- Clearfield® Canola
Canola seed prize must be deemed through the winner’s preferred retailers in the CANTERRA SEEDS retail network. The winner will receive $10,000 worth of canola seed. Canola seed price is set by the retail, not by CANTERRA SEEDS. $10,000 worth of canola seed may equal a different number of seed bags at different retails as they have the independence to set their own pricing.
The product must be accepted as rewarded to the recipient and is not transferable.
5. General Rules
5.1 Odds of Winning. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. All entries that are incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, using any robotic, automatic programmed method that artificially increases the odds of winning or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of the rules may be disqualified by CANTERRA SEEDS. CANTERRA SEEDS is not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this Sweepstakes.
5.2 Entrants. By entering the Sweepstakes, you:
- declare you have read, agree to and have complied with the Sweepstakes Rules;
- declare you meet all criteria to enter the Sweepstakes and to accept and participate in the prize (if awarded);
- agree that subject to the accuracy of the response to the mathematical skill-testing question, if you are the winner of the prize, you agree to accept the prize as provided by CANTERRA SEEDS;
- consent and agree that the information you provided in the entry form of the Sweepstakes, including without limitation, your name, city/province of residence, image, and statements may be shared with CANTERRA SEEDS and may be reproduced, published, displayed or otherwise used by CANTERRA SEEDS for promotional and Sweepstakes administration purposes free of charge and without further permission;
- agree that you, your heirs, your successors and your assigns, release CANTERRA SEEDS as well as [its/their] respective directors, officers, affiliates, volunteers and employees (the “Sweepstakes Parties”) from all liability for any damage or loss arising from your participation in this Sweepstakes, and from the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize (if awarded).
5.3 Prize Accepted AS IS. The prize shall be accepted as is and may not be exchanged or refunded for an amount of money, sold or transferred. No substitutions will be allowed.
5.4 Substitution of Prize. If the prize cannot be awarded as described in these Rules, the Sweepstakes Parties reserve the right to substitute a prize or prize component with another of comparable value, as determined in their sole discretion.
5.5 Refusal to Accept Prize. Refusal to accept the prize or a portion of the prize releases the Sweepstakes Parties from any obligation toward the winner with respect to that prize/portion of the prize.
5.6 Contestant’s False Statement. If a contestant makes any false statement, (s)he will be automatically disqualified from the Sweepstakes.
5.7 Proof. You may be required to provide proof of your name/identity/age as requested by CANTERRA SEEDS in its sole discretion. If you fail to provide adequate proof, you will be automatically disqualified from the Sweepstakes.
5.8 Disclaimer of Liability. The Sweepstakes Parties assume no liability for any loss, damage or injury, including without limitation: (i) lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, late, destroyed, illegible or incomplete entries; (ii) loss, theft or damage to software or computer or telephone data, including any breach of privacy; (iii) fraudulent calls; (iv) inability of any person to participate in the Sweepstakes for any reason including but not limited to: mistaken addresses on mail or e-mail; technical, computer or telephone malfunctions or other problems with computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, or software; lost, late, incomplete, illegible, incomprehensible or misdirected entries; bugs, failures in services, hardware or software transmission failure or loss, delayed or corrupted data transmission; congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination of the foregoing; (v) damage to any person’s computer, including as a result of playing or downloading any material relating to the Sweepstakes; (vi) any delay or inability to act resulting from an event or situation beyond their control, including a strike, lockout or other labour dispute at their location or the locations of the organizations and businesses whose services are used to administer this Sweepstakes; (vii) prizes that are lost, damaged or misdirected during shipping; (viii) loss, damage, defects, or inability to use the prize once awarded to the winner for any reason whatsoever.
5.9 Disclaimer Regarding Damages. CANTERRA SEEDS and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, consultants, agents, volunteers and employees shall not be responsible for any damages, compensatory, direct, incidental, consequential or otherwise, with respect to or in any way arising from damages to participants occasioned by participating in the Sweepstakes or downloading any information associated with the Sweepstakes.
5.10 Cancellation and Suspension of Sweepstakes. Should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the Sweepstakes, CANTERRA SEEDS reserves the right to cancel or suspend this Sweepstakes. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws. CANTERRA SEEDS reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution, should such an attempt be made.
5.11 Property. All entries submitted become the property of CANTERRA SEEDS and will under no circumstances be returned to contestants.
5.12 Personal Information. Personal information collected at the point of entry, such as full name, date of birth (where applicable) and contact information, is collected by CANTERRA SEEDS and are subject to CANTERRA SEEDS Privacy Policy which is available on our website at https://canterra.com/privacy-policy.
5.13 Consent/Unsubscribe. By checking the 'I Consent' box on the entry ballot, you agree to: (a) the use and disclosure of your personal information by CANTERRA SEEDS for promotional and Sweepstakes administration purposes. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and/or contractual restrictions and upon reasonable notice, by contacting CANTERRA SEEDS’ Privacy Officer: Email: info@canterra.com, and (b) receiving from CANTERRA SEEDS, via email or other means, information related to the Sweepstakes and marketing materials and business information concerning products and services offered by CANTERRA SEEDS. 5.14 Amendment and Termination of Sweepstakes. CANTERRA SEEDS reserves the right to amend the Sweepstakes Rules or to terminate the Sweepstakes at any time without any liability to any contestant. Any amendments to these Sweepstakes rules will be posted on https://virtualcroptour.ca/rules
5.15 Binding Effect. By entering, you agree to abide by the Sweepstakes Rules and the decisions of CANTERRA SEEDS which decisions are final and binding on all contestants.
5.16 Applicable Laws and Jurisdiction. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. By your submission of the registration form you agree to attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Manitoba in relation to any disputes regarding the organization or conduct of this Sweepstakes.
5.17 Severability. If any provision these Sweepstakes Rules is invalid, illegal, or incapable of being enforced by reason of any rule of law or public policy, then such provision shall be severed from these Sweepstakes Rules and shall not affect any other provision of these Sweepstakes Rules, and these Sweepstakes Rules shall be construed as if such invalid, illegal, or unenforceable provision had never been contained in these Sweepstakes Rules. All other provisions of these Sweepstakes Rules shall, nevertheless, remain in full force and effect and no provision shall be deemed dependent upon any other provision unless so expressed herein.
