About Chase Hornby

Chase’s journey began at CANTERRA SEEDS in the Summer of 2022 as a Field Program Technician. His dedication and hard work quickly led to a full-time role as the Operations Coordinator by October of the same year. Chase is responsible for ensuring that the seed CANTERRA SEEDS sends out to customers is of the highest quality and that our partners receive exactly what they ordered. He graduated from the University of Manitoba in the spring of 2022 with a major in Agronomy and a minor in Soil Science.

Growing up, Chase has always had an interest in gardening and native plants – a hobby he keeps up with today where he tends to a garden of about 15-20 different species of native plants. During the summer, Chase enjoys exploring unmanaged lands, hoping to spot elusive treasures like the Bottle Gentian in the wild. Chase is a tech-enthusiast, particularly video games and audio – he can often be found in the evenings unwinding, listening to music, and playing all three levels of the New York Times Sudoku (his secret talent!)
