About Duane Briand

From the time Duane was old enough to help at his grandparents’ ranch in the Peace Region of Alberta, he knew agriculture would always be a big part of his life. In the fall of 1988, after Duane completed his Bachelor of Science degree, he began his full-time career in Agriculture. Working for various companies over the years, such as Ag Canada, Pickseed, and Sandoz Agro Canada, he landed at Parkland Fertilizers in Wetaskiwin where he spent 21 years providing local farmers with customized agronomic services. During this time, Duane earned his Pesticide Applicators Certification and Registered Seed Establishment Operator Certificate. In 2014, Duane was named the CAAR Agronomist of the Year while with Parkland Fertilizers – Wetaskiwin.

Fast forward to 2017, Duane, a Professional Agrologist, joined CANTERRA SEEDS as the North Central Alberta Territory Manager where he brings his wealth of knowledge to our farmer and retailer customers.  Duane and his wife, Rose, reside in Wetaskiwin where they raised their two children.
