About Surjit Bawa

Surjit is our Field Program Manager where he is responsible for the field research trials and demonstration plots, research data management, working with the Product Managers in product development and dealing with all field-related inquiries. Growing up on a farm in India, agronomy is in Surjit’s blood. He knew from the time he was in Grade 7 that he wanted to achieve his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and he went on to achieve that goal and more! He has completed the IEAP program at the University of Manitoba, a PAg Designation from the Manitoba Institute of Agrologists, and the Certificate of Confined Trial for Novel Trait Test Plots from the University of Saskatchewan – now that’s a smart guy!

Surjit has been working in the agriculture industry for 27 years – 15 of which have been with CANTERRA SEEDS! Before joining our team, Surjit worked with the Punjab Government in India as Agriculture Development Officer to implement public policies and ag-applied science from the ground level up. Along with being a loving husband to his wife of 32 years, Surjit is also a new Grandpa! His son Aman (who also works at CANTERRA SEEDS as our Reporting & Data Coordinator!) and his wife had their first baby in the Spring of 2024!
